Mid Michigan based bandleader, keyboard player and roots music promoter.  He's been entertaining Mid Michigan revelors and fans for about 30 years (give or take)

            Mike has been a founding member of many of Lansing's great bands like Woodrose, Blue Money, the Down Town Blues Band/Root Doctor, Lisa Smith & the Mike Skory Trio, Dualing boogie woogie with Jeff Baldori, Mike Skory & Friends featuring Tyrone Johnson.  Plus you've seen him at countless weddings, corporate happy hours, festivals and backing up other fine musicians in the Lansing area.  Some of Mike's favorite musicians for listening include the great blues piano men like Champion Jack Dupree and Memphis Slim, swing giants like Charlie Parker and Nat King Cole and of couse ANYTHING from Motown.  Playing live however, Mike will fit the bill for you. 

            Mike also spends a lot of time promoting live music at the Old Town Music Festivals and the successful Stage 1210 located at 1210 Turner St in Old Town Lansing, MI.  You can hear Mike Friday mornings on WILS-AM Lansing with Walt Sorg at around 8:30 promoting live music throughout the area.

            Mike's shows are generally casual the 1st or 2nd set so he'll frequently have guests sit in.  As Mike says, "We'll let almost anybody sing one-if we know 'em, that is."  Somewhere along the way, someone started the phrase "it's Skoryoke time".  Well, we've decided to make it official.  If you'd like to sing with a "live band" just fill in the blanks below.  All singers are welcome-amatuers, karaoake and professional performers and songwriters!  By filling in the request form or sending Mike an email, he'll have time to get your song ready.  No computer tricks here, just live musicians and singers.
